Race-day Swab Official (Northern Rivers & Mid-North Coast)Race-day Swab Official (Northern Rivers & Mid-North Coast) Racing NSW is the representative body appointed for leadership and regulation of Thoroughbred horse racing throughout NSW.
Its responsibilities include protecting the image, interests and integrity of racing.
One of Racing NSW's key functions is the management of a rigorous and robust drug testing program to ensure the highest level of integrity and public confidence in the industry is maintained.
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Race-Day Swab Official within the Mid North Coast Racing Association (MNCRA) and Northern Rivers Racing Association (NRRA).
The primary area to be serviced is that between Port Macquarie and Grafton; however, the successful applicant may be required to service all tracks within the NRRA on occasions.
The primary responsibility of a Race-Day Swab Official is the collection of urine samples from Thoroughbred horses at race meetings for subsequent drug testing procedures.
The successful applicants will possess the following:
High standard of integrityProfessionalismAbility to communicate effectively with peopleAbility to handle, and be in close proximity with, horsesAbility to work well under pressureAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamA valid driver's licence is desired; however, transport is available to race meetingsThe Race-Day Swab Official is a casual position that requires, on average, two days of service a week.
Such commitments are on irregular days, including weekends and public holidays, at varying racecourse locations.
As such, the successful applicant will require flexible personal commitments to accommodate the role.
As this is an integrity-based role, any potential applicant will be required to disclose any conflict of interest, perceived or otherwise, with industry participants.
The successful applicant will undergo a probity check.
