Government - State (Government & Defence) Contract/Temp PERSOLKELLY is one of Australia's largest and longest serving recruitment providers.
Delivering both quality temporary and permanent options, we specialise in the recruitment of Professional, ICT, Government, STEM, Management and Executive talent.
PERSOLKELLY has recently been appointed as the sole recruitment partner for the Western Australian Electoral Commission and will be working to provide a 10,000 strong workforce, to deliver the next state election in 2025.
We are currently looking for the below roles to assist with the Elections next year:
Roles Available:Presiding Officer
Presiding Officers are appointed by the Returning Officer (RO) to manage personnel, election resources, and the polling place.
This includes ensuring that electoral procedures are followed and supervising staff at the polling location.
Dates: 8th March 2025 and In-person training (Date to be confirmed) (approx.
2 days work - weekend work only)
Level: 5Assistant Presiding Officer
Assistant Presiding Officers assist the Presiding Officer as needed.
They help manage personnel, election resources, and the polling place, including taking on the role of Substitute Presiding Officer when required.
Dates: 8th March 2025 and In-person training (Date to be confirmed) (approx.
2 days work - weekend work only)
Level: 3Declaration Officer
The Declaration Officer issues declaration votes on polling day to electors who are not on that district's electoral roll.
Dates: 8th March 2025 and In-person training (Date to be confirmed) (approx.
2 days work - weekend work only)
Level: 1.3Early Presiding Officer
Early Presiding Officers manage personnel, election resources, and polling places, ensuring electoral procedures are followed.
Dates: 24th February until 7th March 2025 (approx.
11 days work - weekend & weekday work)
Level: 5Early Assistant Presiding Officer
Early Assistant Presiding Officers assist the Early Presiding Officer as needed.
Dates: 24th February until 7th March 2025 (approx.
11 days work - weekend & weekday work)
Level: 3Early Issuing / Counting Officer
The Early Issuing Officer issues ballot papers to electors during the polling period.
Dates: 24th February until 8th March 2025 (approx.
11 days work - weekend & weekday work)
Times: 7.30 am - 6.00 pm (24th February - 7th March) and 5.00 pm - 12.00 am (8th March 2025)
Level: 1.3Mobile Presiding Officer
The Mobile Presiding Officer manages the operation of mobile polling at various locations.
Dates: Between 23rd February and 8th March 2025 (3 days work - weekends/weekday)
Level: 5Mobile Issuing Officer
The Mobile Issuing Officer issues ballot papers and assists the Mobile Presiding Officer as needed.
Dates: 23rd February till 8th March 2025 (3 days work - weekends/weekday)
Level: 1.3Remote Presiding Officer
The Remote Presiding Officer manages mobile polling at remote locations.
Dates: 22nd February until 8th March 2025 (approx.
10 days work - weekends/ weekdays)
Level: 5Remote Issuing Officer
The Remote Issuing Officer issues ballot papers and assists the Remote Presiding Officer as needed.
Dates: 22nd February till 8th March 2025 (approx.
10 days work - weekend/ weekdays)
Level: 1.3Returning Officer Assistant
The Returning Officer Assistant assists the RO with higher-level duties.
Dates: March 2025 (approx.
4 days work - may require weekend and weekday work)
Level: 1.3Returning Officer General Assistant
The RO may appoint Returning Officer General Assistants to assist with various election tasks.
Dates: Between 22nd February and 11th March 2025 (approx.
4 days work - weekends and weekday)
