OUR BUSINESSOur client is one of Australia's most recognized brands and a leading global 3PL who have seen significant investment with huge growth in Australia over the last 5 years.
ROLEThe Site Manager will be a customer-facing role responsible for the safe and efficient distribution of our products to our customers.
You will manage all aspects of logistics operations, including inbound and outbound freight, inventory control, stock management, warehouse operations, and people development.
We are seeking an individual with previous warehouse/DC leadership to drive engagement and continual improvement of all operations.
You will maintain activity rates, OWR, streamline materials handling processes, prioritise tasks, and manage storage space.
You will oversee the delivery of warehousing and distribution services in support of a large retail network, ensuring they are efficient and effective, meet best practice standards, and align with business unit objectives.
You will have full P&L responsibility and be the contact for our customer who is a tier 1 client with a long-term contract in place.
Lead the development of a Continuous Improvement (CI) program, focused on improving safety, service, and cost within the DC.
Engagement of key stakeholders internally and externally, aligned to ensure optimum customer service is always delivered in a safe and effective manner.
Lead and develop a team of team leaders and warehouse associates across the two sites (over 100 employees).
Daily management of all operational activities, processes, and systems to ensure maximum optimization of DC space, assets, and resources.
Manage financial administration through development of budgets, monitoring of expenditure, and approval of purchasing payments.
Analyse and report on distribution operations and performance.
Facilitate the safety culture within the business and review and investigate all incidents.
Deliver sustained improvements to business KPIs and strive to achieve operational excellence.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
7+ years as a senior leader within a large scale 3PL ideally doing Retail, FMCG, Technology, or Pharmaceutical/healthcare.
Tertiary qualifications in business, logistics, or relevant practical experience.
Exceptional end-to-end knowledge of Supply Chain operations with a strong proven background in labour planning, capacity planning, cost management, and industrial relations.
Energetic and flexible individual who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.
P&L Accountability.
Strong operational management skills in a Distribution Centre with a large range of SKUs, short lead times, rapid turnover, and high customer demands.
Ability to lead and develop a large team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
