About Us Canteen is dedicated to supporting young people and their families affected by cancer.
Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member's cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one.

We are now seeking a State Manager, QLD to join our team.
Reporting to the Head of Services, you will work closely with the services leadership team to ensure that service provision is informed by principles of best practice and meets the needs of service users.
Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day clinical and operational oversight to the state team, prioritising support and development of the team.
Contribute effectively to organisational clinical and operational governance.
Oversee individual assessment, support planning, and counselling for young people and families accessing services.
Manage risk related to young people and families receiving services within the state.
Ensure high-quality service delivery aligns with best practice, meets professional standards, and adheres to KPIs, on time and within budget.
Ensure high-quality national programs are delivered professionally on time, and within budget as per the National Programs Calendar.
Support staff to build effective relationships with relevant external stakeholders such as hospital teams, outpatient clinics, other cancer support organisations and the wider community sector to build effective care pathways and networks.
Develop and deliver a stakeholder engagement plan that builds awareness of Canteen services and contributes to the organisational strategy.
Lead working groups and committees as part of Canteen's commitment to cross-organisational collaboration and continuous improvement.
Represent Canteen in appropriate public forums to drive awareness of, and support for Canteen and take a 'lead' role locally in national fundraisers.
In collaboration with the Head of Services and the Head of Finance, ensure the effective financial and administrative operation of the state, including the preparation and use of relevant budgets.
About You: Tertiary qualification in allied health (psychology, social work, counselling or OT) and 10 years' sector experience.
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary psychosocial teams with demonstrated ability to develop an effective team culture and high performance.
High level experience and knowledge of best practice in providing clinical services and programs to vulnerable young people and families.
Confident networking with general community, as well as corporate, government, health and school professionals.
Proven experience in building effective relationships with external stakeholders to drive organisational awareness and service growth.
Warm and approachable, ability to listen actively, friendly and professional.
Strong communication and networking skills, ability to build rapport and respect for individual differences.
A compassionate values-based approach.
Advanced computer skills, especially MS Office.
Working with Children Check, current Australian drivers' license and Covid-19 vaccination.
*Due to the nature of Canteen's work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings.
Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.
Travel between both States is a requirement of this role.
