We provide global consultancy advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Environmental Consultant to join our internationally recognised Environmental Assessment & Management team, from our established Mackay office.
Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will have 0-3 years' experience in Environmental Consulting.
Regulatory and/or mining experience will be viewed favourably but is not required, with the right attitude and aptitude we will provide you with training and guidance.
Our Mackay team are fun loving, friendly and experts in the fields of Environmental Management, Compliance, Mine Planning, Mine Closure and Asset Transfer.
You will enjoy undertaking a range of project work whilst learning from this experienced team and developing client relationships throughout the region.
You will also collaborate on exciting projects and initiatives with the national team and other teams within our multi-disciplinary business.
You will be motivated and our team will empower you to develop your skills in targeted document development, technical understanding and project management.
Key Responsibilities: Building and maintaining effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team membersAssisting with compliance auditing and reportingAssisting with Environmental Authority amendmentsAssisting with the development of environmental management plans for mining and industrial projectsAssisting with and coordinating the delivery of Mine Rehabilitation and Closure Plans and Estimated Rehabilitation Cost calculationsUndertaking environmental monitoring and sampling for clients within the Mackay and Coalfields region across a range of areas such as surface water, groundwater, dust, traffic and moreEnvironment management & ESGWorking within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectorsDelivering clear and precise, high-quality reportsSkills and Experience: A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field0-3 years experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.Knowledge of QLD and National environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelinesExperience in the regulatory, mining, infrastructure, power and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with Word processing, Spreadsheeting, Database and GIS software.Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.Benefits: Hybrid work model (in-office & from home) - you choose where you work best.Extra paid purchased leave up to 10 days so you can re-energize, help others, support family, or focus on your own professional development.Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents throughout their parenting journey which includes 14 weeks primary carer and 6 weeks secondary carer leave.
