About the opportunity Westgold's Higginsville Project forms 1,900km of contiguous tenure throughout the southern Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belt.
The tenure overlays some of the region's most prospective ground for mineralisation, inclusive of the Boulder-Lefroy and Zuleika Shear Zones which play host to many of the major gold deposits throughout the belt.
Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, the Project Exploration Geologist will be responsible for generating high-quality exploration drill targets whilst working collaboratively with the exploration team to implement exploration programs to cost-effectively test those targets with the aim of discovering new resources.
This position will be offered on a permanent family-friendly 8 / 6 roster and will be primarily based around Westgold's Southern Operations.
The role includes Executing approved exploration programs to discover new economically significant gold deposits in a safe, timely and environmentally responsible manner.Helping drive discovery and growth through the identification and development of exploration targets from the analysis and interpretation of historical data, geology/structural reviews, geochemistry, geophysical data, and drilling results.Preparing, managing, and reporting on exploration programs including AC, RC, and DD drilling, geophysical surveys, geological field mapping, and surface geochemical sampling.Good understanding of AC, RC, and DD drilling methods including the timely and accurate collation of geological data (including QAQC) and reports.Providing mentoring to Junior Geologists and Field Assistants with a focus on project generation and field-based activities.Ensuring data is accurately collected, collated, and loaded into the database in a timely manner.Maintaining a proactive safety culture within the team.What do I need?
