Clinical Nurse Consultant (Older Persons Mental Health), Queensland HealthThe Clinical Nurse Consultant provides psycho-geriatric consultancy, education and community outreach services to Queensland Health and other relevant aged care or mental health care providers within Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for more than 250,000 people across a geographic area of 150,000km2, delivering a comprehensive range of services across 21 facilities, from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.The Townsville Hospital and Health Service vision is world-class healthcare for northern Queensland.Our purpose is great care every day.About your opportunityClinical Nurse Consultant / 38 hours p.f. from 17.11.2024 up to 30.11.2025.The Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide comprehensive specialized Psychogeriatric mental health assessments, short term coordinated engagement with older persons who meet the established criteria for Older Persons Mental Health Services (OPMHS). They will provide leadership, support, research and education within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of best practice in the clinical specialty within a continuum of care framework.This position will work collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and well being of consumers and carers.Townsville Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is an integrated consultation and liaison community-based service providing assessment and treatment for older adults in the community.Generous remuneration package value up to $6862.00 p.m. comprising:Salary range of $66.85 to $72.58 p.h. (Nurse Grade 7)Annual leave with leave loading12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.Other employment benefits may include: professional development, shift and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.RequirementsQualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.Proof of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.
