ROLE PURPOSE The Tasmania DC Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, managing and improving the operational capacity of the DCs.
Headline responsibilities include:
Drive the strategic direction of the DC in line with company Values.
Provide strong, visible and consistent leadership in accordance with company goals and objectives.
Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with the customer to facilitate the successful accomplishment of company objectives and performance indicators.
Leadership excellence regarding best practices, compliance, safety, budgeting, planning and people engagement.
Ensuring strong working relationships are maintained with Sales, Supply Chain Planning, Customer Service & Transport leadership teams.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Safety
Promote a safe environment daily, celebrating safety achievements and ensuring Zero Harm culture.
Ensure compliance with WHS policies, collaborating with the national safety team for site safety initiatives.
Lead the Site Safety Committee, incident investigations, and safety observations.
Service
Champion customer service excellence, aligning team performance with customer needs and business strategies.
Drive innovative solutions to meet and exceed service KPIs.
Cultivate customer and supplier relationships to enhance service performance.
Commercial Focus
Develop and manage budgets, maximizing return and minimizing unplanned expenses.
Ensure timely, accurate reporting and create a continuous improvement culture.
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and service levels.
Best Team
Demonstrate inspirational leadership by living company values.
Align team objectives with business goals, providing coaching and mentoring.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration across the team.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR Qualifications and Experience
Proven success in leadership roles within warehousing and logistics operations.
Strong commercial acumen in budgeting and finance.
Diploma-level qualification in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain (preferred).
Proficient in WMS, labour management, TMS, and intermediate MS Office skills.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
Strong project management skills and understanding of OH&S and Industrial Relations legislation.
