The Role ALS is seeking enthusiastic Laboratory Assistants to join our metallurgical services business based in Balcatta, Perth WA.
You will be a casual employee working up to 75 hours a fortnight (shiftwork is required for this role - day/afternoon/occasional night shifts), reporting to the Area Supervisor.
Your responsibilities as a team member will be to perform metallurgical testwork procedures safely and successfully to meet the expectations of our clients.
The role may lead to permanent full-time employment in the future.
These are not FIFO mine site positions.
All training will be provided.
Day to Day Responsibilities Supporting the Area Supervisor and Team leaders, you will assist in performing bench testwork procedures. Involved in sample preparation process procedure. Follow procedures to complete test work to a high safety standard. Accurate record keeping, capturing, and processing control samples. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the workplace. The Essentials Successful candidates will possess the following skills and abilities:
Good communication, organisational and time management skills. Great attention to detail and be highly motivated. Ability to undertake Shift work as required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual handling tasks. Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills. Alignment to ALS core values and culture. Applicants with previous experience in similar laboratory or mine site roles will be highly regarded; however, training will be provided for successful applicants with no experience.
