We are currently looking for a talented Analyst to join our Economic, Regulation and Modelling team.
This is an exciting role for someone with a passion for the energy sector, who wants to grow their career and deliver results in a challenging, client-facing environment.

Your core skill set includes data analysis, modelling, data presentation, and communicating insights and results to an audience.
You have advanced Excel skills and some programming experience, preferably with Python.
You have great attention to detail and quality orientation and you're ready to be at the forefront of change in the energy sector.
The Opportunity
As an Analyst at CutlerMerz, you will:
Apply analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative) to analyse data, build models to derive insight and solve problems accurately and quickly.
Support the development of a range of models built for our energy industry clients.
Examples of modelling projects recently completed include: Risk based asset replacement forecasting, probabilistic network capacity investment forecasting, individual project cost-benefit analysis, electricity network climate resilience risk forecasting, electricity demand forecasting, solar/battery/electric vehicle/future tech forecasting, large scale electricity generation build-out forecasting and electricity wholesale market modelling.
Work as part of a collaborative team on a variety of projects, constantly learning and applying your knowledge to unique situations.
Participate in the CutlerMerz project management process.
Deliver high quality, client presentable reports and documents.
Establish and build trusted relationships with clients, management and project teams.
Contribute to proposals for CutlerMerz to win new work.
Ideally you'll have:
An analytical degree, in the fields of economics, maths, sciences, engineering or finance.
Demonstrated aptitude and appetite for using structured problem-solving and analysis to solve complex issues, and clarity in explaining methods and concepts.
A keen interest to learn about the energy sector in Australia, current challenges of the sector, and understanding of how the sector needs to transition.
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, including presenting qualitative and quantitative data.
A deadline and quality orientation.
A personable and professional approach, with excellent communication and presentation skills and an effective team player.
