This hands-on role involves leading and delivering mechanical technical solutions in accordance with project scope, timeframes, and best practice standards.The right candidate will find this position rewarding and will receive strong support in a positive and progressive environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position based ideally in our office in Pakenham, Victoria.Roles and Responsibilities:Conduct risk analysis to reduce unforeseen obstacles and costsConduct periodic scope, schedule, and cost reviews using industry best practices to identify needed adjustmentsMeasure project performance and progress throughout campaign executionManage client and other stakeholder expectations to maintain productive and engaged relationshipsDocument project activities, obstacles, costs, and resultsProvide summarized project plan documentation to departmental managers, clients, and other stakeholders as neededEngage in continual learning to remain abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging standardsCollaborate with and lead teams to deliver results on schedule and within budget limitsDevelop a thorough understanding of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and scheduleBe a project lead and/or key contributor to the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering designs, engineering projects, and feasibility studies, identifying involvement of internal and external stakeholdersDevelop fabrication drawings, models, schematics diagrams, and installation work packs.Produce technical documentation including datasheets, BOMs, and fabrication drawings.Develop QA documentation including ITP (Inspection Test Plans) and MDR (Manufacturer's Data Reports).Ability to prepare and deliver technical proposals to meet client requirements.Review and approve mechanical technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.)
and technical reports.Assist in the preparation and development of project-specific proceduresLiaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling, and coordinating project deliverablesManage project design and engineering function, ensuring engineering deliverables are metMonitor and review design changes to assess the effect on project budget and scheduleAttend regular progress meetings with both internal and external project stakeholdersContribute to the technical preparation and evaluation of vendor packagesMaintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposesExecute other role duties as assignedHealth & SafetyActively participating in establishing a safe working environment for all Shadbolt Group employees in accordance with the regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act by:Leading by example for OH&S requirements.Wearing correct PPE at all times when on site as requiredReporting OH&S issues to site health and safety representativesParticipating in safety and other investigations as required from time to timeParticipating in any safety training that is communicated by Shadbolt GroupSpecialist Knowledge, Competencies, and SkillsThe following skills are required for the incumbent to perform the duties of the position:Familiarity with project management programs and processesAbility to set and meet project deadlines while maintaining the highest standardsExcellent quality analysis and controlEffective written and verbal communication skillsMulti-tasking capability to efficiently manage multiple campaigns simultaneouslyAbility to align with the company's vision and missionStrategic thinking and creative planningData analytical skills to analyze project goals, ongoing metrics, and final resultsThe ability to identify and analyze problems, create innovative solutions, and make informed decisions to facilitate project successRisk analysis and mitigationQualification and ExperienceThe following qualifications are required for the incumbent to perform the duties of the position:Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in project managementProficiency with industry-standard project management tools and softwareExperience with client management and internal departmental communicationsProven track record of successful project managementStrong technical background in the industry2D drafting, 3D modelling, and technical drawing.Shipbuilding experience.Understanding of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Lloyd's RulesHow to express your interest in this opportunity:If you're eager to apply your skills and experience to our success and shape the future direction, then this role could be the perfect fit for you.
