Job DescriptionAbout The Role As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the Deadly Choices Program Officer is expected to contribute to the shaping and achievement of ATSICHS vision and goals. The DC Program Officer is responsible, as part of a small team, for the delivery of school and community based health education, promotion and prevention activities; in line with the Regional Action Plan and the Deadly Choices and Smoking Cessation Procedures Manuals. Conduct a range of workshops and support activities for ATSICHS staff, to improve tobacco cessation screening and intervention practices and processes.
Duties Delivery of the Deadly Choices ProgramDelivery of Further Preventative Health ActivitiesDelivery of Activities to support Community and ClinicsCommit to a high level of quality management for ATSICHS through use of LogiQC quality management systemsDelivery of CCHS Staff Training WorkshopsAbility to perform Clinic ProcessesProvide relationship management and information managementEnsure safety among the team and everyone at ATSICHSCultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staffCulture Enjoy working in an organisation that makes a difference in the community. Base salary of $66,805 per annum11.5% Super + access to salary packaging (Increases your take home pay)Permanant Full Time roleCOVID-19 Requirement Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine is encouragedDesired Skills and ExperienceRequired Certificate IV or above in Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care – Community Care or equivalentInterpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and liaise with clients and members of the community general and technical staff in the provision of professional quality client serviceThe ability to work with other health professionals and organisationsDemonstrated ability to deliver health promotion programs, with experience in community engagement activitiesDemonstrated understanding of the health social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peopleDemonstrated commitment to maintain a healthy lifestyle and engage and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to commit to lifestyle changeCurrent C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) and an ability to travel across the designated region as requiredWorking with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to applyPreferred Experience working in Healthy Lifestyle or similar Health or Community engagement/development programs, is desirablePrevious experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clientsHow to apply If this sounds like you, please submit your application by following the links on the recruitment page.
