ABOUT THE ROLEQudos Bank Arena, one of Australia's premier entertainment venues, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety and Risk Manager to join our team.
This role is integral to maintaining a safe and positive environment for our employees, patrons, service providers, and suppliers.
This is your opportunity to combine your expertise in risk management and passion for safety to influence how we host a large number of guests, from global superstars to enthusiastic fans.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead and manage workplace health and safety (WHS) initiatives and provide risk management expertise.Oversee the Arena's Risk Management Plan, including the development and monitoring of event risk assessments, business and operational risks.Support and advocate improvements for event and Arena safety risks by assisting to develop solutions, consulting with all staff to implement changes and proactively identify and lead risk improvement projects.Develop, implement, and review WHS policies, procedures, and risk management plans.Facilitate risk assessments, incident reporting, and compliance audits.Oversee site inductions and safety compliance for contractors and suppliers.Provide safety advice to event hirers and production teams.Deliver training, toolbox talks, and emergency scenario exercises.Chair the WHS Consultative Committee and actively contribute to the Emergency Planning Committee.Manage a team of Fire Safety Officers and Event Safety Officers.Monitor and remain up-to-date with changes in legislation & regulations and proactively provide information and advice to management on appropriate application and impact on organisational policy and procedures.ABOUT YOUTertiary qualifications in Risk Management, WHS, or a related field.Demonstrated experience in a professional safety role, preferably in major events or production.In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management standards.Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence people at all levels.Excellent report writing skills and experience working with budgets.Strong project management skills with the ability to lead system implementation from start to finish.Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, evenings, and events as required.ABOUT THE VENUEQudos Bank Arena is Australia's #1 entertainment venue.
