Governance Officer

A local council in Sydney is seeking a Governance Officer to join them on a contract basis.
5 days per week 6-month contract $60ph + super Start ASAP In this role, the successful candidate will provide expert governance advice, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and enhancing organizational processes.
Key Responsibilities: Provide governance advice to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
Support Council meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
Maintain governance registers and ensure they are up to date.
Develop and review policies and procedures to improve governance practices.
Assist in managing the council's responsibilities as a naming authority.
Conduct governance-related research and projects as directed.
Build relationships with internal stakeholders to promote good governance.
What They're Looking For: Strong understanding of Local Government processes and legislation.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Proven experience in governance roles.
