About the role
Join our dynamic PTA Project Delivery (PPD) Division at the Public Transport Authority (PTA) and contribute to the successful delivery of the High Capacity Signalling (HCS) project – one of the PTA's major transport infrastructure projects.
The Senior Project Manager role is critical in ensuring the Optional Works projects are planned, defined and designed for delivery with HCS systems.
The key Optional Works deliverables include the delivery of:
an On-Board Communications Based Train Control Terminal (CBTC) for Railway Vehicles without integrated CBTC capability; Track Worker Protection Devices (to establish worksite protection zones for personnel working in the live railway environment); and a Crew Rostering and Schedule Optimisation product solution.
As the leader overseeing medium to high-risk projects, this role will be pivotal in delivering enhanced safety and efficiency on the PTA railway network.
The role will encompass building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as ensuring consultants' compliance with contractual obligations regarding cost, time, performance, and safety standards.
Your work will be guided through compliance with PTA's Project Management Framework in the planning, procuring, managing and delivering projects.
In your management of medium to high-risk contracts, you will be required to conduct technical product research, provide project-specific reports and recommendations in collaboration with stakeholders to achieve the required results.
In general, your leadership and experience will influence the aspects of project needs analysis, procurement planning, tender preparation, and successful procurement.
You will also provide advice on contract formation and management and effectively mitigate risks.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Proven experience in the specification, procurement and delivery of technology-related projects within a safety-critical working environment; Highly developed project and contract management skills, and experience working within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary project delivery environment; Technical awareness directly relevant to the role requirements including working experience in the application and system integration of new technology; Substantial experience in the planning, procurement and contract management of complex projects.

There is currently one full-time, fixed-term appointment for five years with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency available for immediate start.
