The Trainee Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Officer is part of Council's Education to Employment (E2E) program – designed to provide you with on-the-job experience, mentoring and support from highly skilled professionals, all while you complete a formal qualification.

This Traineeship is a 2-year program, where we will support you to complete a Diploma in Spatial Information Services.
As the Trainee GIS Officer you will gain technical knowledge, develop valuable skills and gain hands-on experience in GIS.
Training will be provided both on-the-job and online.
In this role, we will support you to:
Gain a deep understanding of Council's GIS ApplicationsAnalyse and interpret dataCommunicate with various stakeholdersThe position is located at Administration Building and involves minimal travel to areas within Lake Macquarie.
You will be rostered to work between Monday to Friday.
Candidates who have completed a Diploma qualification or higher in a related field may not be eligible to apply.
