Grounds & Maintenance Officer | Toowong Private HospitalPermanent full-time position Monday – FridayRemuneration package starting at $90,000 p.a. Salary to be negotiated dependent on skills and experience.About the role:We are seeking a hands-on Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our team and play a crucial role in maintaining our hospital grounds and facilities.This independent role will see you balancing general gardening duties, undertaking minor property work and most importantly, contributing to a safe and pleasing environment for our hospital patients, staff and visitors. As a "jack of all trades" your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Performing general handyman duties and hands-on repairs, including minor painting and plastering, carpentry, cabinetry repairs, caulking, waste removal, and general maintenance.Regular pruning and maintaining shrubs, lawns, trees, and other plants.Planting and caring for new plants, flowers, and other greenery.Performing general grounds maintenance tasks such as clearing pathways, removing litter, and minor repairs.Schedule and complete routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs, liaising with internal teams and external contractors.Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and prepare reports for management.Foster strong working relationships with staff and contractors to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.About you:Proven experience as a gardener/grounds maintenance worker, ideally in a similar roleBe a self-starter and enjoy working autonomouslyStrong organisational skills with keen attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA proactive and problem-solving mindsetGood time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and follow through on tasks effectivelyCurrent Drivers LicenseRelevant qualifications in facilities management or a related building trade qualificationExperience in a maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital settingKnowledge of workplace health and safety principles, for the care and safety issues related to tools, equipment, chemicals and electricityOwn ute (car allowance available)About Toowong Private Hospital:At Toowong Private Hospital (TPH) we have been putting patients first for almost 50 years.We are a family-owned private hospital offering treatment and services designed to demonstrate respect, understanding and focus on the unique needs of each patient.
