The Debt
Support Specialist role is responsible for the management of
overdue SA Housing Trust tenant accounts and collection of current
debts within a portfolio of accounts ranging from newly overdue,
large debts, aged debts, and supporting tenants in more severe
financial difficulty.
Support
Specialists tailor their approach to meet the unique needs of a
diverse customer base, which includes linking customers with
financial support services to assist them in rehabilitating their
financial situation to protect their tenancy.
The Debt Support
Specialist position requires advanced problem-solving abilities,
data-driven decision-making, excellent planning/prioritisation,
while offering tailored solutions to a diverse and complex
cohort.
The role
requires a high level of interpersonal, communication and
negotiation skills while maintaining a resilient mindset given the
challenges that come with talking about overdue
accounts.
Special
Conditions

Successful applicant
will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police
Clearance prior to being employed.
Successful applicant
will be required to satisfactorily complete a DHS Screening
Unit Working with Children Check prior to being employed and
every 5 years.
The
successful applicant may be required to hold a current
Australian issued Drivers Licence, which must be
maintained.
Some out
of hours work may be required upon activation of the Emergency
Relief Functional Support Group.
The
incumbent in the role is a Mandated Notifier of child abuse
under the Children and Young People (Safety) Act
2017.
The
incumbent must be prepared to move between regional locations
in SA Housing Trust as required.
Role
