Due to parental leave, Guma-Warnii Resources have two Tactical Purchasing Officer roles which operate within our leading mining client's Global Purchase to Pay Team across the APAC hub on a Monday to Friday roster, working 40 hours per week.

In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of medium complexity purchase requisitions to purchase order conversions with a focus on ensuring compliance and maximising value/savings to the business.
The key to success in this position will be your ability to deliver consistent results, drive continuous improvement, build credibility with business stakeholders, and demonstrate a high level of energy and a "can do" attitude.

Reporting to the Manager Regional Buy Operations (APAC), your remit will include but not be limited to:
Provide SME support to the Rio Tinto Procurement Category and Sourcing teams Conduct multiple quote market testing for purchases Assist with the manual conversion of purchase orders calling off panel agreements Monitor buy channel compliance Support transactional buyers with local market knowledge Engage in one-off sourcing projects Identify business improvement opportunities to generate value/savings e.g.
automation Support breakdown / urgent requests Experience Required
Must have SAP buying experience Previous experience in a "Buy" role (highly desirable) Working knowledge of the Purchase to Pay processes Strong understanding of SAP and Ariba or similar enterprise software Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholder groups identifying true value through business improvement ideas Experience analysing data and defining gaps/opportunities/savings Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills Strong planning and organisational skills Ability to work independently What we offer
