The ideal candidate will inspire students to lead healthy, active lifestyles and support their physical, social, and emotional well-being.As the newest member of our co-educational, non-denominational, independent school network, Reddam House North Shore continues the tradition of inspiring students to reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PDHPE lessons in line with the New South Wales PDHPE syllabus for 7 - 12.Student Engagement: Foster a supportive, inclusive, and active learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth.Physical Education Instruction: Teach fundamental movement skills, sport-specific skills, and fitness concepts tailored to different year levels.Teach Geography from the Key Learning Areas as specified by NESA.Prepare daily and long-term lesson plans that adhere to curriculum standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.Arrange and manage classroom resources effectively to support an engaging and conducive learning environment.Assess students' abilities, strengths, and areas for improvement, providing individualised support to help them overcome challenges and excel academically.Maintain productive working habits and discipline within the classroom to foster a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:SKILLS & EXPERIENCEProven experience in teaching physical education and leading sports programs, ideally in a high school setting.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events, teams, and activities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.Demonstrated leadership abilities, particularly in coaching and team management.In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and risk management in school sports.Ability to work collaboratively as part of the PDHPE faculty.Demonstrated experience in teaching at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of NESA curriculum requirements.Expertise in one or more of the Key Learning Areas, with the ability to teach effectively and engage students with diverse learning needs.Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive and disciplined learning environment.Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with the ability to monitor and report on student progress accurately.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTESEnthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about sports and physical education.Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.Strong leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork and community.A commitment to promoting health, fitness, and personal well-being.Resilient, flexible, and able to manage competing demands.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in PDHPE, Physical Education, Sports Science, or equivalent.Relevant teaching qualification (e.g Bachelor of Education).Accreditation to teach in NSW.Current First Aid and CPR certification.Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent clearance.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSMust be available to support extracurricular sports activities outside of regular school hours.Willingness to engage in professional development to stay updated with current trends in sports education.At Reddam House North Shore, we pride ourselves on a faculty of unparalleled caliber.
