Child Youth and Family Health Services (CYFHS) is part of the Women's and Children's Service Group within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
CYFHS provides a variety of nursing, therapy and services through community-based programs.
These programs include: Hospital and Home visiting, including Sustained Health home visitingImmunisation Clinics and School Based ImmunisationWell baby Clinics and GroupsIMPS Day-Stay CentreEvidenced Based Parenting Programs e.g.
Circle of Security & Triple PEarly Intervention Parenting Clinician ServiceSchool Based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN) programPrimary School Health Readiness ProgramThis position may be required to support Rural child health teams with the requirement for car, ferry and light aircraft travel, including overnight stays.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.Deliver family-focused nursing care through a variety of programs to exceed families' expectations using a Family Partnership approach.
These programs include home visiting, clinics, immunisation, group and parenting programs.Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.Provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting, including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.Use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.Provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.For additional information regarding the responsibilities and/or other requirements for this position please refer to the role description.
Benefits: Salary rates between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
(Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)Annual leave loading + leave12.75% employer superannuation contributionOther employment benefits may include: salary sacrificing options, uniform and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.Role requirements: Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position (Child Youth and Family Health).Highly Desirable: Completion of an immunisation course approved by Queensland Health and the ability to complete Townsville Hospital and Health Service Credentialing application for immunisation, including knowledge of the Health Management Protocol, is highly desirable or the intention to complete an approved immunisation course if successful in the position.Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
