Field Technical Specialist

This role works for Cardiac Rhythm management.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
Main ResponsibilitiesSupport implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators, and CRT devices at the direction of your manager.Conduct and provide technical support and advice at post-op follow-ups and clinics.Complete pre-course reading and online training.Attend didactic training and complete course exams.Attend field visits to observe device implants and checks with colleagues.Develop a clear understanding of sales force effectiveness (SFE) imperatives by undertaking sales skills training and engaging with territory managers to better understand the key objectives designed to drive business growth.Develop relationships with, and service key customer groups.Conduct education/training to hospital staff.Identify customer needs and communicate these to appropriate Territory Manager.Maintain and update product knowledge including actively participating in internal and external training sessions.Assist colleagues with their field development.Commence education towards IBHRE certification.Assist with product marketing and launches.Provide market feedback on product and competitor activity.Comply with customer service and other administrative requirements within the required timeframe.Ensure maintenance of company property/assets.You may be required to work outside of your ordinary hours of work to participate in essential training, team meetings, customer events or trade shows/conferences.
These events may take place on an evening and/or weekend.
Quality, Safety and EnvironmentalAttend regular departmental meetings with relevant manager/supervisor to build in continuous feedback mechanisms.Meet the requirements of ISO by complying with all relevant Quality policies and procedures to ensure the Quality objectives of the business are met.Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimizing accidental exposures to self, colleagues, and/or the environment.Ensure any PPE provided by Abbott is worn.Report any accidents or incidents within 24 hours through Done safe and notify your manager.ConductEnsure all activities carried out by self and others are in accordance with legislative employment policies, health & safety requirements, and global policy.Promote a standard of excellence for quality and customer focus at Abbott.Uphold the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.Live our Abbott Values – Pioneering, Achieving, Caring, Enduring.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Abbott standard operating procedures and policies and always ensure compliance.Ensure your Company related activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, and ethical standards.Essential RequirementsOn Call: This role requires participation in the relevant on-call roster applicable to your role.Certification: It is a requirement of your role that you obtain and maintain certification as specified by Abbott.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential: Tertiary qualifications in Biomedical, Engineering, Medical Science, Human Movement, or related field (Coronary Care Nursing/Cardiac Technician) essential.Desirable: Cardiac technical experience working in pacing.
Minimum of 1 year working with Abbott CRM products.Competencies and AttributesExpert communication skills and customer service skills.Stays focused and under control in stressful circumstances.Ensures an accurate understanding and acts in a way that facilitates open exchange of ideas and information.Effectively transfers thoughts and expresses ideas verbally in individual or group situations.Effectively identifies, plans, schedules, and coordinates resources (people, material, information, time) required to accomplish your goals, and is well prepared for every case ensuring they have the right stock and is punctual.Manages own commitments and time, works independently and autonomously across all accounts, completes administrative tasks (particularly the online diary) accurately and in line with deadlines.Experience using Microsoft Office Suite i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.About AbbottAbbott is a global healthcare leader, creating breakthrough science to improve people's health.
