Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.
In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for Ward Clerks to work on several of our Wards here at Northern Health.
We are looking for multiple part timers to job share across multiple areas, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology (DONC) and the Weekend Ward Clerk team.
This role is for customer service focused applicants to join the Ward Clerk Workforce.
Working days are over 7 days per week, however the permanent part time roster will be set days to be determined during this recruitment.
As a Ward Clerk, you are responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to patients and their families upon their arrival at the hospital.
You will also assist clinical teams by coordinating the necessary clerical requirements for patients' admission to discharge.
Responsibilities of this job include: Patient movement scheduling processes to ensure appropriate bed management and utilisation;Managing incoming and outgoing calls to the ward clerk desk;Provide timely and accurate information to queries by patients, visitors and other staff and departments;Work alongside and support clinical staff, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients;Ordering of stock;Compilation and management of patient clinical documentation. To be successful in this role you will have: An enthusiastic personality with a strong administrative skillset and a passion for customer service and enjoys being part of a busy environment.The ability to converse and be empathetic while managing a busy flow of admissions and discharges.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team of clinical and non-clinical staff.Demonstrated computer literacy including the Microsoft Office suite of programs.Experience in a medical setting will be highly desired, though not essential.Experience with Patient Administration Systems including an Electronic Medical Record.
