Communications and Community Relations Officer - Yeronga State High SchoolEducation (Organisation site)Metropolitan South Region, Early Childhood and State Schools DivisionYeronga State High School is seeking an enthusiastic Communications and Community Relations Officer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.You will be responsible for the promotion of the school and its relationship with the community by leading and managing communication strategies and the organisation of major school events.The Communications and Community Relations Officer reports to the Principal.About the SchoolOur school's vision is 'Quality Pathways to Success'. Yeronga provides learning pathways to a socially, economically and environmentally balanced future.Your RoleResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Manage the school Calendar and events schedule, and coordinate school special events, including awards ceremonies, school assemblies, Parent Teacher nights and Study Tours.Manage the development of whole of school brand marketing, manage and implement information evenings, communication strategies and initiatives to promote key aspects of the school.Develop and manage the school's publicity materials and digital presence (newsletter, website, school calendar) by sourcing digital content and encouraging increased engagement of the school's website and social media channels.Participate in the decision making activities of the School Executive Team, particularly with regard to providing input and analysis of the specific communication needs.Prepare communication materials and press releases (draft, plan, write, edit and publish), develop relationships with media organisations, and monitor the standard of the school's written communications.How to ApplyPlease attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); andA 2-pg written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).We are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.
