You will oversee all operational security functions, including threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and proactive threat hunting. Additionally, you will be responsible for embedding threat intelligence into operational workflows, ensuring the SOC is continuously evolving to address and pre-empt emerging threats.Your role will be integral to safeguarding a critical part of Australia's national infrastructure, ensuring the security of our network and services, which are essential to national security and prosperity. You'll also manage compliance reporting and ensure timely, effective remediation strategies are implemented.In addition, you'll play a vital role in shaping and enforcing corporate security policies that meet stringent legal, technical, and regulatory requirements. You'll oversee security controls for IT projects, advocate for best practices, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals. Recruiting and developing security talent will be key, as will maintaining technical documentation and providing escalated support for complex security challenges.In this hands-on leadership role, you'll champion security awareness across the organisation, lead incident response efforts, and actively contribute to risk assessments.
