Join us at UTS and help shape the futureThe OpportunityThe Senior Agile Project Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of complex IT initiatives within UTS, utilising Agile methodologies and principles. This position requires effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including executive leaders and IT teams, to align project objectives with strategic goals. Leveraging expertise in traditional project management, Agile, and SAFe frameworks, the manager will oversee timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Additionally, as part of an Agile Release Train, they will support the Release Train Engineer in synchronising multiple Agile teams, ensuring smooth delivery of multifaceted solutions with budgets often reaching millions of dollars.A Day in the Life of a Senior Agile Project Manager at UTSDrive collaboration with university stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and contributing insights to long-term strategy formulation.Oversee the delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives, managing timelines, budgets, and resources, while adhering to university processes and leveraging SAFe practices for incremental value delivery.Facilitate Agile ceremonies, lead governance forums, and coach teams on Agile methodologies to foster collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across initiatives.Proactively identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies while ensuring compliance with SAFe guidelines and cybersecurity controls to safeguard the university's interests.Cultivate and manage relationships with external vendors, overseeing contract negotiations and ensuring deliverables align with university objectives.Participate in ART level events and activities such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Backlog refinement etc.Lead the development of funding requests supported by comprehensive business cases, and communicate project status, progress, and challenges to stakeholders through regular reporting.What You'll Need to Succeed:Proficient in Agile methodologies (SAFe certified desirable) with a strong grasp of Agile principles and frameworks.7+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master, successfully delivering solutions across various technologies.Knowledgeable in traditional Waterfall project management disciplines, with relevant certifications.Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent IT initiatives, focusing on planning, execution, and delivery using Agile methods.Strong stakeholder engagement skills, effectively collaborating with senior executives, faculty, and technical teams to gather requirements and align expectations.Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills, ensuring project success and effective management of changing priorities in a university environment.Remuneration & BenefitsA competitive and comprehensive remuneration package will be offered.This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits.
