About the Role The NDIS ECEI Coordinator will work alongside children 0-6 years with disability or developmental delay and 6-9 years with disability, their families, and carers to undertake assessments, develop and implement interventions that build on the strengths of the child and their families in order to improve the child's path and overall quality of life.
This role requires the NDIS ECEI Coordinator to assist people in identifying their goals for a good life, their strengths and needs, and exercise choice and control.
Where appropriate, enable them to develop a plan to pursue their aspirations.
The NDIS ECEI Coordinator will work with local communities to build awareness, capacity and improve opportunity for people with disability to access and actively participate in community activities.
Key Duties Facilitate informal and formal assessments for children 0-6 years. Facilitate individual and/or group sessions with participants when required. Provide short term intervention using best practice models and consulting with Allied Health Professionals when required. Assist the individual or nominated contact to develop, implement, review, and monitor their NDIS plans when a funded plan is appropriate. Establish and maintain strong networks with community groups, organisations, government services, and service providers, and link people to these as appropriate. Work alongside individuals and families to build capacity and confidence to live a good life by setting their own goals, exercise choice and control over funded services, seek out and engage in mainstream and universal supports. Supports families to implement plans and monitor their progress. Operates within Baptcare policies and procedures and quality framework. Makes an active commitment to the development and maintenance of cohesive teams both within Baptcare and the NDIA. Participate in meetings, supervision, and staff development. Complete all required training both NDIA LEAP and Baptcare Learning Management System within specified time frames. Attend all mandatory face to face training sessions and workshops. Lead meaningful community engagement and awareness activities and capacity building projects. Communicate in conversations, written work, and in presentations effectively, appropriately, and respectfully. Utilise excellent organisational, time management, and self-direction skills. Work within the NDIS ILC Outcomes Framework and NDIS ECEI principles. Meet KPI's as specified by the NDIA Statement of Requirements. Complete and maintain all spreadsheets and registers required for KPI tracking. Assist with telephone and face to face enquiries. You will ideally bring the following:
A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Development and/or Allied Health Commitment to promoting the citizenship of people living with disability, understanding that they have the same rights and responsibilities as all other people to participate in and contribute to the life of their community. Promote greater consciousness and understanding of the scheme, inclusion, and disability awareness. As partners in the community, promote and enhance the reputation of the NDIA through building trust and confidence in the NDIS. Operate within a continuous improvement framework. Contribute to a positive team environment within Baptcare and the NDIA. Demonstrate commitment to the needs of children and vulnerable people with a disability; from a culturally or linguistically diverse background; and/or from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. Implement and work within workplace health and safety requirements. Demonstrate commitment to the safety, well-being, and best interests of children and young people, and to the duty of care in the prevention and identification of, and response to, child abuse. Recognise the needs and aspirations identified by individuals and families themselves set the direction of local area coordinator actions. Behave in a way that contributes to a workplace that is free of discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Commitment to working in a manner that maintains and promotes the Baptcare values and Code of Conduct. Key Selection Criteria: Organisation and planning - demonstrated comprehensive assessment and planning skills. Service delivery - Proven experience in working with children aged 0 – 7 and outstanding ability to provide early childhood intervention in line with best practice. Problem solving - ability to work within complex environments and be outcome focused. Continuous development - ability to accept constructive feedback from supervisors and stakeholders and apply continuous learning to keep abreast of developments in the industry. Collaboration - ability to work within a team environment by sharing information, supporting colleagues, and respecting different skills. Influencing skills - demonstrated ability to motivate others and act as a change agent through strengths based, person led practice. Interpersonal skills - ability to communicate, build and nurture relationships and partnerships with a range of people and organisations at an individual, service and community level. Inclusive Communities – demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the principles and values of human rights, social justice, and inclusion. Technology – Demonstrated ability and initiative to effectively use a range of software and learn, embrace, and adopt new systems. Communication – demonstrated ability to record and present information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
