We have a rich and proud history of providing support through a range of services including counselling, groups, residential rehabilitation, and educational initiatives.
About the role Possessing a sound level of clinical knowledge, skills and expertise in the Alcohol and Other Drug sector, the Triage and Assessment Counsellor will provide assessment, referral and brief intervention for consumers seeking support from the Community Alcohol and Drug Service.
The Triage and Assessment Counsellor will conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine consumers' level of complexity, vulnerability and identify their immediate treatment needs for presentation at the daily Multi-Disciplinary Intake meetings.
They will also provide brief intervention and waitlist management support to consumers awaiting ongoing treatment.
About you We are looking for a dedicated professional with qualifications in social, behavioural, or health sciences, counselling, or equivalent experience.
You will have a strong understanding of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) issues and proven expertise in delivering comprehensive assessments, referrals, and clinical interventions.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with consumers who present with complex and co-occurring needs, as well as a track record of developing and maintaining professional networks to support treatment needs.
You thrive in collaborative, multi-disciplinary team settings and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Your ability to engage effectively with individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, is essential to your success in this role.
