We are looking for pilots who are ready to take on the challenge of serving in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
About the role
This is a full-time Line Pilot position based in Port Hedland, Western Australia with the Royal Flying Doctor Service WO.
As a Line Pilot, you will play a vital role in providing critical medical and emergency services to regional and remote communities across Western Australia.
What we're looking for
Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) Significant experience (minimum 1500 hours) flying fixed-wing aircraft in a variety of weather conditions Single Pilot and/or Aeromedical experience will be highly advantageous Holds an SEA instrument rating with at least two IPCs and 100 hours of both night flying and Instrument Flight Time (IFR) Strong situational awareness, decision-making and problem-solving skills Keen sense of adventure, and ability to work in small teams Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Commitment to safety and a collaborative team environment Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays Benefits

The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia.
Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe.
Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA.
A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care.
RFDS crews are committed to providing the finest care to the furthest corners of the State, using the highest standards of clinical care, aviation safety and technology to make a difference to people living and working across WA – the largest and most remote health jurisdiction in the world.
The RFDS in WA operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra.
Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State.
We work in partnership with government, business and the community, and are proud to work on Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.
In 2024, the RFDS is launching a new five-year strategy 'Above and Beyond', which will mark an important new chapter in the long Flying Doctor history.
The strategy will include a focus on expanding remote health clinics in some of WA's most vulnerable communities, expanding our profit-for-purpose services, strengthening our workforce, harnessing technology and addressing our environmental sustainability.
