Located in the Western Metropolitan suburb of Melton Victoria, Kurunjang Secondary College is a stand-alone Years 7 to 12 college with a current population of over 900 students.
The school is in the second year of its Strategic Plan period.

The focus is on enhancing student outcomes, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy.
In addition, our plan is to improve results in our VCE student outcomes and increase the participation of students into tertiary, particularly university, education.
This plan is informed by our work in Effective Teaching and Learning, Coaching, the use of a consistent teaching schema, called the Effective Learning Framework (E.L.F), and collaboration through a variety of Professional Learning Teams (PLTs).
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated ability to teach a musical instrument, theory and practice to a satisfactory level.
Demonstrated ability to assess and monitor student progress according to VELS and VCE.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, students and the community.
Demonstrated ability to support and develop individual and group performances within the school and student performances in the community.
Role
Fixed term tenure: 28/01/2025 until 19/12/2025
FTE 0.6 or FTE 0.8 negotiable.
The instrumental music teacher/instructor has the qualifications and/or professional experience and demonstrated expertise to teach students a musical instrument(s), theory and practice.
They have the demonstrated ability to develop the individual and group performance capabilities of students.
They develop and support individual ensemble band and orchestra performances and assist technically with instruments, electronic equipment and sound systems.
The instrumental music teacher/instructor liaises with other instrumental music teachers/instructors and classroom music teachers under the supervision of the music coordinator.
They work as a team member to achieve the goals of the music program.
They actively participate in the care and maintenance of musical instruments and music department equipment.
The instrumental music teacher/instructor ensures all OH&S guidelines are followed.
Responsibilities
The role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students; Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school; Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal; Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions; Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
