The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032.
This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes: 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount IsaUp to six new substation sitesThe Role This exciting project has commenced, and we are currently looking for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the team.
What will a day in this role look like: Conduct environmental impact assessments, reviews, field inspections and site assessments.Monitor, manage operational activities, and be responsible for the daily delivery of the project's environmental functions.Ensure that different stages of the project and operations comply with environmental laws, regulations, and permits.Collaborate with subcontractors, landowners, stakeholders, traditional owners, and the community to address environmental concerns and develop sustainable practices.Conduct environmental audits to identify areas of improvement and assess compliance.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to environmental assessments, compliance, and initiatives.Manage high-level issues and give guidance to operational management on environmental issues.What are we looking for you to bring to the team: Bachelor's degree relevant to the field of operation of the positionConstruction Induction White CardCurrent C Class Drivers LicenceDemonstrated relevant experience within the construction or similar environmentMinimum 5 years previous Environmental Management ExperienceAs part of the recruitment process, there are a number of checks which may be conducted to demonstrate an applicant's suitability for a role including police / criminal background checks, medical, drug and alcohol testing, due diligence checks, right to work checks, and / or reference checks.
