SummaryWe are on the lookout for a highly skilled Senior Solution Designer to join a prestigious Big 4 bank within their solution delivery chapter. In this pivotal role, you will focus primarily on programs aimed at consolidating pathways and reducing front-end complexity to enhance customer interactions and overall user experience. Your technical expertise will be crucial in developing solutions that address complex business challenges, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.As a hands-on designer, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into comprehensive design documents. This will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to create solutions that not only meet functional needs but also adhere to high technical standards. Your strong focus on API development, particularly RESTful APIs, will be key, along with proficiency in technologies such as JSON, SQL, and React.Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, transforming them into effective design solutions.Develop detailed design documentation that encompasses UI designs, API designs, and database architectures.Create and maintain design artefacts, including 3-tier architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and open API sequence diagrams.Engage with engineering teams to facilitate the successful implementation of designed solutions, ensuring alignment with established specifications.Focus on API development, including RESTful APIs, utilising technologies such as JSON, SQL, and React to deliver robust solutions.Work on programs aimed at reducing front-end complexity and optimising payment processes, ensuring seamless integration and user experience.Participate in technical discussions and reviews, contributing to continuous improvement practices within the solution delivery chapter.Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.What We're Looking For:Proven experience as a Solution Designer or in a similar role, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.Strong hands-on expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs, with a focus on JSON and SQL technologies.Familiarity with front-end technologies, particularly React, and their integration with backend systems.Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive design documentation and artefacts that guide engineering teams effectively.Experience working within a structured design process and knowledge of 3-tier architecture.Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Experience in agile methodologies is preferred.
