About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Technician to join the team at Northern Health on a part-time basis.
This role would suit a passionate Laboratory Technician who enjoys working as part of a team to contribute to the production of high-quality work and participation on a rotating roster.
Based within the Anatomical Pathology team, the key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): specimen handling, embedding and microtomy of FFPE tissue, data entry, equipment maintenance, block and slide filing, cytopathology preparation, mortuary duties, and other general laboratory responsibilities.
To be successful in this role you will have: A relevant diploma of applied science (Medical Laboratory), diploma or advanced diploma in laboratory technology or Laboratory Operations, or equivalent.Previous experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory with experience in anatomical pathology techniques.Proven ability to work in a fast-changing environment, working both independently and as part of a team.A high attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.Next Steps: If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
