Junior Project Accountant

Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Project Accountant to join their team on a 6-12 month contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced industry.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in project accounting activities, including cost tracking, budgeting, and variance analysisSupport the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and proceduresCollaborate with project managers to monitor project expenditures and provide financial insightsReconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerParticipate in month-end and year-end closing processes related to project accountsMaintain accurate financial records and documentation for audit purposesContribute to the continuous improvement of project accounting processesSkills & ExperienceA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline1-2 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role, preferably within the mining or resources sectorProficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teamsHigh attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlinesWhat's on OfferCompetitive remunerationFlexible working arrangementA supportive and collaborative team environmentThe opportunity to build your career in the mining sector with a reputable companyPlease Note: Only candidates with Australian citizenship or permanent residency will be considered for this role.
