Director, Employee Mental Health Reform

This role reports to the Executive Director, Employee Safety, Wellbeing, and Inclusion Division, and will lead the establishment of the Employee Mental Health Branch of ESWID and the implementation of Improving School Staff Mental Health initiatives to improve the mental health and wellbeing of government school employees, reduce mental injuries and to sustain and build upon improvements in the department's return to work performance.The role requires excellent leadership and change management skills, and a focus on program delivery and implementation.The role will be responsible for establishing and leading the implementation of five initiatives that will be delivered within ESWID:Early Response Support for School Staff to provide early intervention services for school staff at increased risk of mental injuries. This program will increase the capacity of teams who provide support for schools managing complex safety risks such as work-related violence.A Principal Return to Work Coordinator Program, which has been piloted over the last 12 months, enabling us to continue to provide comprehensive support for principals to return to work and proactive access to additional services for principals with work-related injuries.School Staff Wellbeing Promotion and Engagement to improve promotion and proactive engagement with mental health and wellbeing services among school and regional staff through regionally based dedicated frontline wellbeing engagement leaders raising on-the-ground awareness and promoting staff wellbeing.An OHS Mental Health Advisory Program to provide expert guidance and support for schools to identify, assess and control psychosocial hazards in the workplace and reduce the risk of mental injuries among staff.Peer Supervision Groups for cohorts at the highest risk of mental injury including principal-class employees and specialist school staff through peer clinical supervision groups.The Department values diversity and inclusion in all forms - gender, religion, ethnicity, LGBTIQ+, disability and neurodiversity.
