Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated pharmacists to join the Pharmacy Department as Grade 2 Registrar Training Pharmacist - Emergency Medicine About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Meeting the immediate and longer-term health care needs of our community requires a transformation in how we provide health care services, and Northern Health has embarked on the journey to transform into a High Reliability Healthcare Organisation.
The department comprises over 100 pharmacists and 30 technicians to provide clinical, operational, quality and informatics services with a strong focus on workforce culture and commitment to professional development.
We are currently undergoing a period of expansion which provides unique opportunities for specialisation appealing to those applicants wishing to challenge themselves and advance practice including pharmacist and technician advanced-scope roles, collaborative multidisciplinary programs and services, medicine stewardship programs (e.g.
analgesics, anticoagulants and antimicrobials) and virtual care (including Heart Failure Virtual Ward and Victorian Virtual Emergency Department).
About the Role: An opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Registrar Training Pharmacist - Emergency Medicine to join the team at Northern Health.
This role will require work over 10 days (80 hours) per fortnight - Monday to Friday at the Northern Hospital with potential to work at other sites of Northern Health as required.
The Registrar Training Pharmacist will be supported to advance their practice in Emergency Medicine and develop their skills through completion of a two-year program as an AdPha Registrar Candidate in Emergency Medicine.
The pharmacist's work plan will include 18 months in Emergency Medicine and 6 months in a relevant specialty area (e.g.
Mental Health or General Medicine) under the mentorship of the Senior Pharmacist - Emergency Medicine.
They will continue as a rotational clinical pharmacist within the Pharmacy Department following completion of the two-year program.
The Northern Hospital Emergency Department provides comprehensive adult and paediatric emergency care 24/7 and is the busiest ED in Victoria.
