Construction Estimator
with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in all aspects of
Residential and Commercial estimating
for tiling, paving, screeding, and waterproofing projects to join our team.Job Summary:As a Senior Estimator in Tiling, you will be responsible for estimating the cost of tile installation projects across various sectors such as residential, commercial, and industrial.
You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget, on time, and in compliance with quality standards.
Your role involves analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to provide accurate and competitive estimates, as well as identifying potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for tiling projects, including materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.Project Analysis:
Review project blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the full scope of work.Budget Management:
Work with project managers to monitor budgets and control costs throughout the lifecycle of the project.Bid Preparation:
Assist in preparing competitive tender bids for potential projects, including price proposals, schedules, and cost breakdowns.Material and Supplier Sourcing:
Source, evaluate, and recommend suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.Risk Assessment:
Identify and assess potential risks, delays, and cost overruns, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to clarify project requirements, resolve queries, and ensure expectations are aligned.Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and tender submissions, ensuring all documentation is properly organized and accessible.Team Leadership and Training:
Lead and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance on estimation methods and industry best practices.Quality Assurance:
Ensure estimates align with industry standards and client requirements, adhering to safety and quality protocols.Skills and Qualifications:Education:
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience:
At least 5-7 years of experience in estimating within the tiling or construction industry, with a proven track record in large and complex projects.Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of tiling materials, techniques, and industry standards.
Familiarity with tiling installation methods such as ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, stone, and more.Estimating Software:
Proficiency in estimating software such as
Bluebeam , and strong Excel skills for cost breakdowns and analysis.Attention to Detail:
Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates and to identify discrepancies or issues before they become problems.Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and internal teams.Project Management:
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Problem-solving:
Ability to think critically and provide solutions to complex issues related to cost, scheduling, and project specifications.Certifications:
Certification from a recognized estimating body (e.g.,
RICS ,
CIOB ) is advantageous but not required.Working Conditions:Location:
This position may require both office-based work and occasional site visits to assess projects and gather information for estimating purposes.Travel:
Depending on the region, travel to client sites, supplier meetings, and project locations may be required.Work Hours:
