*Closing Date: 9 AM Monday 20 January 2025 face2face reference: 626107 Location: Surry Hills, NSW Hours: Full-Time Contract length: 12 Month Contract Entry requirements: Australian Citizenship and Pre-Engagement Check Pay rate: $602.55 p/d ex super About the role: The EL 1 Assistant Director Financial Reporting (Professional Stream) is accountable under broad direction to undertake complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the financial functions of our Australian Government client.
The position is an important team leadership position that will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.
Duties: Lead components of the Financial Reporting team and functions, including month end inputs, reporting, analysis, risks, and controls, including the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
Coordinate monthly General Ledger close and reporting procedures and maintain the centralised General Ledger Journal posting register.
Lead preparation of notes and schedules for the client's financial statements and liaise with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) regarding audit matters.
Manage key stakeholders including internal and external auditors, business partners and other stakeholders.
Undertake end-to-end management and reporting of the client's fixed assets register, coordinating accounting processes with Corporate Shared Services and internal resources.
Oversee compliance and financial assessment of the client's property lease contracts, coordinating all financial accounting entries into the lease accounting register.
Develop and present a range of financial and business written materials, including correspondence, briefs, and reports.
Required experience/skills: Relevant academic qualifications with a membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance-related post graduate qualifications).
Extensive direct finance experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcomes.
