We're looking for an Underground Manager who is not afraid of a challenge and is passionate about making a difference managing the Paulsens Underground Mine Start Up
Being a right-hand to the General Manager, you will manage and coordinate all aspects of our owner-operated underground operation, so getting the right person for this key leadership position is essential, as you will play a significant role in setting the right culture across Paulsens.
About the Opportunity As an integral member of the Site Leadership Team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the underground operation.
This position requires someone prepared to be both hands-on and strategic, to meet safety, production, and cost targets.
Initial focus will be to oversee and assist with the operational readiness activities currently underway:
Planning and scheduling of the mine design and maintenance requirementsDevelopment and implementation of operational systems and proceduresUpgrading of infrastructure including escapeways and ventilationWorking with geology team to establish reconciliation and reporting standardsAs we become fully operational, one of the fundamental requirements of this position will be the optimisation of the long-term strategy of the operation.
The key to success will be through establishing and maintaining a collaborative approach with our strong technical, operational and maintenance teams, to achieve optimal performance.
About You We are seeking a leader who is collaborative in nature, influencing others with diplomacy, tact, and discretion, with an ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, with respect and confidence.
You will need the following:
WA Underground First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency and a degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.Leadership experience in building and managing multidisciplinary employee workforces with an ability to champion behaviours that positively impact culture.Experience in underground mine management, with production and planning experience, in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine.Demonstrable skills and knowledge in risk management, safety and environmental systems and legislative and statutory requirements within an underground mining environment.Experience working for a similarly sized company is desirable, particularly having an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that a junior company going through a period of growth faces.Strong user of mine planning and scheduling software packages (Deswik desirable).Overall, you consider yourself a confident, highly capable, and motivated performer and are looking to enter an environment where you can make an impact.
