Manager, Business Development (Field Agent) - Australia Country / Region: AUCompany: EDPR Australia Pty LtdEDP Renewables APAC is the main subsidiary of EDP Group, a global leader in the renewable energy sector and one of the world's largest wind producers.With its headquarters in Singapore, EDP Renewables is the leading sustainable development hub for the Asia Pacific region with activities across nine different markets.Our activities are focused on the design, development, management, and operation of renewable energy sources, namely solar, wind, as well as new technologies such as storage.EDP is a global energy group leading the Energy Transition, Innovation and Sustainability.Using the technology of the future, we create solutions highly focused on the needs of our people and our customers, never neglecting our role and contributions to society.To achieve our goals, we aim to attract diverse people with high potential through the professional opportunities we create.Join us to be part of a renewable energy leader that reinvests in society through sustainable projects and social as well as cultural causes.You will have the opportunity to actively participate in our global transformation, by changing tomorrow now.EDPR is hiring a field-focused Business Development Manager to support projects in eastern Australia.The Field Agent is responsible for the identification of new projects through pre-feasibility studies and client engagement to signed land agreements.With the support of internal technical and legal teams, this role will negotiate and ensure the correct land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents necessary for the development and operation of renewable energy sites are in place.The role involves approaching and engaging landholders to secure project land and serving as the liaison between the company and landholders to maintain harmonious client relations.The position is primarily based in our Sydney or Canberra offices and requires about 30% of time spent travelling in regional Australia.Remote working arrangements in central NSW or QLD can also be considered.Responsibilities:Support the identification of project sites for solar, wind and energy storage projects.Undertake desktop due diligence and preliminary feasibility on potential sites.Develop project budgets and support the financial analysis and modelling of the project.Conduct negotiations with landholders to obtain land rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain wind, solar and battery storage projects.Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including landholders, elected officials, regulators, utilities, and community leaders, to support project development.Work alongside internal EDP Renewables departments (including planning, legal, engineering, and construction) to produce proposals and support development activities.Produce correspondence and material for project websites, information booklets and other promotional material as may be necessary.Perform quality assurance checks and additional due diligence to ensure a high degree of quality and confidence in business opportunities and the accuracy of external facing materials.Conduct and manage all work in a timely fashion to ensure that critical deadlines are met.Be proactive in finding more efficient ways to run the project development functions.Additional duties as required.Requirements:Three (3) or more years of experience in sales, project development, property development, agricultural / farm supply agency, agronomy, agricultural consultancy, consultancy, commercial leasing or similar client-facing technical sales-driven roles.Proven ability to:Effectively sell into consumer or industry markets, including substantial success in achieving strong sales results through direct selling of products, services and projects.Work autonomously towards achieving high standards of sales performance involving consistent achievement or exceeding of targets and objectives and high rates of return from sales activities.Strong communication, negotiation and relationship skills that will build trust and represent company interests.Ability to be self-motivated and self-direct work effectively in structured and unstructured work environments, often from remote locations.Ability and willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.Fluency in English.Eligibility to work in Australia.When you join EDP Renewables APAC, you will have access to:Professional experience in a leading global company in the renewables industry with flexible work conditions.Recognition through remuneration compatible with the role and other additional benefits.Opportunities for personal and professional development, e.g.
