Assessment of activities and industry development proposals throughout the State for a range of environmental matters including mining, waste management and industrial processes.Compliance activities and environmental risks to key industry stakeholders and management.State-wide customer services to DETSI staff and customers including environmental licensing and permitting, telephone, front counter and email enquiries and the management of environmental management and contaminated land registers and debt recovery activities.A range of projects to support continual improvement and efficiencies in business practice, processes and systems with a focus on customer service delivery and the implementation of legislative and reform agendas, strategies and initiatives across the department.Review the work of less experienced staff, including a range of correspondence and advice, as requested, to achieve statutory, administrative and/or other agreed timeframes and to ensure consistency with contemporary Administrative Decision-Making Principles.Provide expert advice, guidance and direction to less experienced staff, managing assigned, technically complex and contentious matters, for the development and endorsement of approaches and options for approval by the delegate.Represent ESR in technically complex stakeholder and customer negotiations and communicate with influence to contribute to the resolution of contentious matters.Undertake investigations of contentious and technically complex issues requiring complex policy analysis and legislative interpretation for the preparation of advice, briefs, ministerial and executive correspondence, submissions, publications and other correspondence on environmental management issues.Liaise, consult and work collaboratively with other business groups in ESR including legal and other technical advisors, and coordinate activities with other government departments as necessary, to support the investigation of environmental management issues.Contribute to the review of approved local practices, systems and processes by identifying opportunities for improvement and provide feedback on workplace initiatives, strategies, policies and guidelines, including Workplace Health and Safety to facilitate ESR objectives.Contribute to a workplace culture consistent with the department's values including ethical behaviour and sound decision making and foster ESR's capability by coaching, providing advice, guidance and mentoring and sharing experiences, learnings and explaining delegate decisions where appropriate.Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
