The QBFP is looking for Fisheries Officer - Recruit in a range of locations across Queensland to fill multiple positions.
This is an entry-level position with opportunities for career growth, including advancement to Fisheries Officer and other exciting roles.

As Fisheries Officer - Recruit, you will: Assist Authorised Officers with enforcement, surveillance, inspections, and investigations in fisheries and fisheries habitat protection and small craft safety under state and commonwealth statutes.
Assist in the delivery of compliance and extension services to fishers, small craft users, and the community to develop their knowledge and understanding of fisheries, fisheries habitat, and boating safety requirements.
Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of State and Commonwealth Fisheries and maritime safety legislation.
Engage with a cross-section of the community on fisheries and marine-related compliance issues through participation and delivery of education activities at public events.
Assist with routine maintenance of departmental equipment and materials to ensure they are kept in good operational condition.
We are looking for candidates who will have: One of the following: Diploma of Justice Studies, Diploma of Government (Investigations), Diploma of Policing, Diploma of Fisheries Compliance, or a Diploma or higher-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., marine or aquatic resources) or an equivalence determination for the qualification held.
Possession of a current manual motor vehicle driver's licence (Class "C" open).
Possession of a recreational marine driver's licence or equivalent.
Possession of or ability to obtain a personal watercraft licence or equivalent.
Physical ability to carry out manual tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
