Every voice matters, and every idea has the potential to be impactful.About the role:This is a 12-month Fixed-term Contract where you will be working alongside the Head Chef, be hands-on and responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day Jumbo kitchen operations, ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality catering services that meet the needs of employees, contractors, and visitors.This key role within the organisation offers a rare work-life balance with work hours being 6:30 am - 2:20 pm Monday through Friday.
As a cook at Jumbo, you will engage with employees and management to deliver and promote a healthy and balanced diet and lifestyle.In Addition To:Daily checks of kitchen equipment, food temperatures and overall cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas (patio, catering/lunch and small kitchen areas, as well as the Kitchen store facility),Daily food preparation aligned with the set menu prepared by the Head Chef,Cleaning and sanitation of kitchen,Pre-meal prep,Post-meal clean-up inclusive of dishes,Daily Level 1 and Level 2 kitchen facilities maintenance and cleaning includes coffee machine, dishwashers, stocking of bar and staff fridges,Invoice approvals for Accounts,Menu research and writing,Provide catering for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for company and client events as and when required.What We Would Like You To Bring:Proven cooking experience in a corporate environment,Food Safety Supervision certification,First Aid certification,Ability to manage the kitchen with a positive, approachable and constructive attitude,Effective communication skills when liaising with suppliers, fellow employees and customers,Must have a passion for food,Positive can-do attitude and friendly demeanour.Salary Banding: $60,000 - $70,000 + SuperWhy join the Jumbo team?We pride ourselves on offering a wide variety of benefits to our Jumbonians.
