ECC Veterinary Nurse - Adelaide Veterinary Specialist & Referral CentreFull-timeWe are currently seeking experienced and passionate Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Veterinary Nurses to join our dedicated and growing team As an ECC Veterinary Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering top-notch emergency and critical care services to our patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of medical attention and support.
Our team works in a state-of-the-art clinical environment, equipped with the latest technology to deliver exceptional care for both patients and clients.
As members of the Animal Referral and Emergency Network (AREN) and Greencross Vets, we are linked with a comprehensive network of veterinarians across Australia, spanning all veterinary disciplines.
This collaboration enables our veterinarians to access a wealth of expertise, ensuring optimal outcomes for every patient.
Key responsibilities: Provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill and injured patients under the supervision of our skilled veterinariansMonitor patients' vital signs and response to treatment, making necessary adjustments as requiredAssist with emergency procedures, surgeries, and diagnosticsAdminister medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarianMaintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with the veterinary team and pet ownersParticipate in continuous learning and development to enhance skills and knowledge in ECC nursingOur ideal candidate will have the following skills and expertise: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualificationMinimum of 3 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in emergency and critical careStrong technical nursing skills, including proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sampling, and anesthesia monitoringExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situationsA genuine passion for providing exceptional care to animals and their ownersWillingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating rosterWhat we can offer you: Full-time and part-time opportunitiesCompetitive salary based on experience and qualificationsSupportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and developmentAccess to continuing education and training programsWork-life balance with a rotating roster and no on-call shiftsStaff discounts on veterinary services and retail productsThe chance to make a real difference in the lives of pets and their families during times of crisisIf you are a dedicated and compassionate veterinary nurse looking to advance your career in emergency and critical care, we want to hear from you
