Walz are currently seeking a Procurement Officer to work in our Gladstone Fabrication workshop.

About the Job:
We are currently looking to fill a newly created role for a Procurement Officer to work in our Gladstone Fabrication Workshop.
You will be proficient in managing procurement processes and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Read and interpret technical shop drawings Compile Material Take-Offs (MTOs) with sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
Coordinate with internal managers to align procurement activities with business needs.
Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and vendor information.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing costs.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
About You:
Proven experience in reading technical shop drawings (required) Strong knowledge of steel members (required) Proficiency in compiling MTOs in Microsoft Excel (required) Live in Gladstone or the surrounding area.
Ability to work independently Proactive and dependable, excelling in managing tasks with minimal supervision.
