Specialist Production Engineer - MarandooWork for a supportive leader who genuinely cares about the development of their teamFIFO role at Marandoo on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster from PerthReal opportunity to extend your technical experience and advance your careerAbout The RoleA truly unique opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Production Engineer to join our Marandoo mine operations team.
With cutting edge autonomous technology at your fingertips and support of the brightest minds in the industry you will safely optimise production processes and drive continuous improvement to maximise output and reduce costs.As an integral part of the Mine Technical Services team, this role will allow you to expand your knowledge of all functions within an operational mining environment and gain invaluable experience to continue growing your career.
This position will suit someone who is curious, passionate about driving continuous change, can embrace out of the box thinking and has the ability to challenge the status quoReporting to the Superintendent Operational Planning, you will:Deliver mine productivity 90-day improvement plans, data analysis, and insights into planning parameters to drive cost reductions.Collaborate with internal partners across mining technical services, dewatering, fixed plant, and mobile equipment maintenance to support the mine plan.Inform and influence the Mine Planning team by providing appropriate parameters.Conduct deep dives into parameters vs. actual performance of assets against input.Demonstrate the Rio Tinto values of Courage, Care, and Curiosity.About YouTo succeed in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalentAbility to lead safety & productivity improvement project work & drive improvementsExceptional relationship building skills coupled with your ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of business partnersA manual 'C' class driver's licenceDemonstrated experience in mine production or technical mining engineering roles within a large open pit mining environmentSomeone who thrives on a challenge, can think outside of the box and has a good understanding of the fundamental concepts that underpin value in the mining industryGreat computer skills (Microsoft Office Word Document, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) and reporting and analytics skillsIt will also be beneficial if you have:Prior experience with autonomous haulage systemsExperience in planning and using planning software such as APSIf you are excited about the role and think you have what it takes but your experience doesn't align 100%, we still want to hear from you.What We OfferA work environment where safety is always the number one priorityA permanent position working directly for Rio TintoA competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with Annual incentive programComprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate familyAttractive share ownership planCompany provided insurance coverExtensive salary sacrifice and salary packaging optionsOngoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing supportLeave for all of life's reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave)Exclusive employee discounts (banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more)Where you'll be workingThe Marandoo mine is located at the foot of Mount Bruce adjacent to the Karijini National Park, 50 km east of the town of Tom Price.
