Job DescriptionWhat you will do: Design and develop roof rack components and accessories, following Rhino-Rack's design and development processes.Create detailed designs, drawings, tolerances, and specifications for various manufacturing methods, ensuring high-quality outcomes.Work closely with lead engineers, category managers, and cross-functional teams in operations and supply chain to deliver new products that meet project requirements.Lead DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFQ (Design for Quality) projects in collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Marketing, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Conduct test fitments, failure testing, and validation exercises to ensure that products meet regulatory, performance, and quality standards.Collaborate with the Engineering & Design team across Australia and the USA to achieve project goals.Work with the technical writing team to refine user documentation, improving the overall customer experience.Provide occasional technical support for business training activities, ensuring that team members are well-prepared and knowledgeable.Desired Skills and ExperienceWhat we are looking for: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience as a mechanical engineer, ideally within the automotive or outdoor product industry, with at least 5 years in a similar role.Proficient in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.Proven experience in FEA, particularly Ansys.Experience in design for manufacturing, specifically for processes like injection moulding, metal components, and extrusions.Experience with product design from start to end (concept to manufacture).Experience within the automotive industry is desirable.Strong ability to plan, prepare, and execute work according to schedule.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the capability to work seamlessly within a cross-functional team.A valid driver's license.Why you will love working here: Thrive in a workplace that fosters creativity and innovation, where your ideas are valued, and you're encouraged to push the boundaries of what's possible.Benefit from our comprehensive EAP, which supports your well-being and personal development both inside and outside the workplace.Enjoy the convenience of onsite parking, making your commute easier and stress-free.Join a team with a spirit of adventure, where exploring new opportunities and embracing challenges is part of our culture.Take advantage of our unique "Make Space for Adventure" leave day, allowing you to step away and recharge with your favourite activities or experiences.Enjoy special discounts on our products, making it easier to experience and share the quality of our offerings.Ready to make an impact?
