Snowy Monaro Regional Council employs over 450 staff from all walks of life and working with us will give you the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful surrounds, progress your career and make a difference in our local community.About the Role :Organise the day-to-day work of the strategic planning team and support team members to undertake their work efficiently, effectively and safely.Monitor and report on individual and the team's work performance and progress towards the delivery of work plan goals.Use resources efficiently, effectively and responsibly to complete tasks that either contribute to or directly deliver services.Direct the day-to-day activities of the Strategic Planning team that contribute to, or directly deliver services.Guide the Strategic Planning team's contribution and performance to facilitate improvements to service quality, accessibility and responsiveness.Maintain adopted policies, procedures, processes and systems of work, and hold team leaders and team members accountable to apply them when carrying out their work.Model and reinforce cross-functional collaboration through information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.Model and reinforce an agile, solutions-focused, accountable and collaborative culture that facilitates workforce engagement, empowerment and performance.Inform, educate and guide employees about their WHS responsibility to maintain a safe workplace.About You :Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline with contemporary experience in a similar role; or substantial contemporary experience in a similar role, coupled with ongoing professional development to support contemporary knowledge.Experience in the preparation of Strategic Land use planning projects, Land use planning controls, and Developer Contribution Planning.Experience managing and leading a team of employees.Sound negotiation and highly developed communication skills and experience in community engagement.A high degree of self-motivation, initiative and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.Proven track record in leading, supervising and motivating a team with a commitment to a high standard of performance.Current Class C Drivers Licence.Local Government experience in Strategic Planning.Local Government experience in Recreational Planning.Local Government experience in Community Development Planning.Experience in Floodplain Risk Management.Related qualifications in Local Government Management.Experience in assessing Planning Proposals and liaising with developers and proponents.How to Apply :Apply by submitting your cover letter and resume through the link below.
