We are therefore looking for a suitably qualified and experienced town planner to help support this growth in a contract planning position to cover maternity leave.Position OverviewWe are seeking a qualified candidate for a short fixed-term contract to cover a temporary leave of absence.
The Planning Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and development activities of Council.
The region provides a range of diverse planning issues including those associated with the River Murray, urban and rural interface, population growth and infrastructure demand.
As a result of this diversity, the Development Team work on a range of interesting and challenging development applications.QualificationsA relevant and recognized Planning qualification is essential together with a strong knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act, Planning and Design Code and the operation of the Development Assessment Portal.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Team Leader Development, responsibilities of the position include:Assessing a diverse range of planning applicationsPreparing reports and attending Council Assessment Panel meetingsProviding specialist planning advice and working positively with applicants, developers, consultants and the community to achieve progressive development outcomesUndertaking inspections and investigations in relation to complianceResponding to customer enquiries and external organisations regarding planning, development and enforcement mattersDemonstrating high level skills in communication, customer service, time management, problem solving along with the ability to work as part of a teamYou will be:working in a progressive and rewarding environmentvalued and appreciated for your proactive and customer-centric approachencouraged to be creative and resourcefulsupported by workplace policies that are family friendly and flexible with work from home optionsThis is an exciting opportunity to have an impact on the future growth and enhancement of the Murray Bridge township, our small rural townships and rural community.The position is offered as a full time 12 month contract in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council's current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $93,645 to $97,770 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.How to ApplyA detailed job description for the above position can be obtained here.All applications must be submitted via Seek and include a current resume with two referees supporting your cover letter of no more than 2 pages outlining your experience, skills and knowledge in accordance with the position description.This role will remain open until 5pm, Friday 16 February 2024 or until a suitable candidate is found.Annual salary range of $93,645 to $97,770 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
