Restaurant Manager

As the Restaurant Manager at Lantern on the Quay, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth and effective operation of the restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service to drive the overall success of the business.
Key Responsibilities Staff Management: Recruiting, interviewing, and training staff.
Overseeing waitstaff and kitchen personnel.
Scheduling employees and managing payroll.
Supervising and appraising staff performance.
Customer Service: Accepting reservations, welcoming guests, and facilitating order placement.
Building rapport with customers to assess their overall experience with meals and service.
Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Handling customer complaints and feedback.
Operations Management: Overseeing daily shift operations, both front-of-house and back-of-house.
Maintaining safety and food quality standards.
Managing inventory and ordering supplies.
Designing menus in collaboration with chefs.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Coordinating and arranging special functions.
Financial Management: Controlling operational costs and identifying ways to cut waste.
Preparing reports on revenues and expenses.
Compliance: Managing the acquisition and pricing of commodities according to budget.
Keeping track of stock levels and financial transactions.
Ensuring dining facilities comply with health laws, are clean, functional, and of appropriate appearance.
Must-Have Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong management and leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and encourage a team.
Proficiency with restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems.
Extensive knowledge of the restaurant sector, including food safety, liquor licensing, and other applicable regulations.
A thorough understanding of Cantonese food is essential.
This comprehensive role requires a dynamic individual who can manage both the operational and customer service aspects of the restaurant, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for all guests.
